Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas COunty

Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas County is located in Pinellas County, Florida which includes Clearwater, Largo, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs & St Petersburg. We are on the west coast of Florida . Beautiful white beaches are in our county.

We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month except for December & June. In December we hold a Christmas Party. In June we join with the other 3 clubs of our area for a joint installation of officers. Our meetings are held at the Club Room of Pierce 100 Condo. We have a social hour from 5:30 until 6:30. The meeting begins promptly at 6:30 PM. Our president covers correspondence , classifications & other items during salad. We sometimes have an interesting program that begins during dessert. But many times our business meeting fills our time. The cost of the meal is $10.00. You are invited to join us if you are interested in becoming a member or are a visiting Soroptimist from another area. .

Paula attended the Leadership Retreat at Camp Weed in Live Oak, Florida.
On Sept 26th our club was recognized by Partners in Self Sufficiency for the fence for their child care program. At their annual meeting. President Betsi attended and accepted their thanks and a certificate .
President Betsi presented a certificate of appreciation to the membership accepted on behalf of the Club by Mel Chase from Women on the Way at their Appreciation Luncheon.
Many of us attended a fantastic Halloween party at Marsha's beautifully decorated house. Marsha, Minnie & Betsi were hostesses.
We held our annual Christmas party at President Betsi's house.
We held several WINE & CHEESE RECRUITMENT GET TOGETHERS which resulted in 4 new members for the year.
We donated wrapped Valentine gifts to Women on the Way..
Cathy chaired a successful Women Honoring Women at The Carlouel Yacht Club in February. Our member, Terry Sue, was honored in the health care catagory.
We presented an $800 check to our Women's Opportunity Award Winner- Michelle Durban . We presented $100 to our Violet Richardson Award Winner, Sarah Nickerson, & to her Charity, "Bayfront Hospital Nursery"
Good bye to Dorothy Quick. This great lady moved to California to be near her son. We are so grateful for the time that we were able to spend with you. We will miss you. There will never be another quite like you.
We donated our major service funds this year to "Women on the Way".
We joined our sister clubs in the Tampa Bay Area at our installation luncheon in June. We hosted the meeting at the Safety Harbor Spa. Mel did a great job as chair.
