Soroptimist International of Upper Pinellas County is located in Pinellas County, Florida which includes Clearwater, Largo, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs & St Petersburg. We are on the west coast of Florida . Beautiful white beaches are in our county.
We meet the fourth Tuesday of each
month except for December & June. In December we hold a Christmas Party.
In June we join with the other 3 clubs of our area for a joint installation of
officers. Our meetings are held at the Radisson Hotel, Clearwater
Central, 20957 US Hwy #19 North.
just north of Gulf to Bay. We have a social hour &
dinner from 5:30 until 7:00. The meeting
begins promptly at 7:00 PM. Our meals are ordered individually
from the menu. You are invited to join us if you are interested in becoming a member or
are a visiting Soroptimist from another area. . You may email your

This year held an overabundance of tragedy:
On July 25 we lost Minnie Olds, who has been our Soroptimist sister for many years. Grace survived a fall but fortunately is back with us. Nancy suffered personal tragedies. Pegi lost her husband. We gained and lost the same 3 members within a few months due to transfers, etc. On the positive side: We donated $25 to the American Cancer Society and an additional $25 to the SI Foundation in the name of Minnie Olds. Some member participated in "Postcard - College Nite" at SteinMart on August 14. This was a "fundraiser" for Women on the Way at St. Petersburg College. We participated in a "Birthday Party" celebration on September 25th at Pinellas Village held by the Soroptimists of Largo by buying and setting up the decorations. We had good participation in the District II Meeting – Sept 30-Oct 1 at Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach. This event was hosted by SI Holiday Isles. Alice, Marie, Terry Sue, Nancy, & Karen attended the Women on the Way appreciation luncheon on Nov. 3rd at Ruth Eckert Hall. We made $904 for our club by working at the Westfield Shopping Project - a very successful project spearheaded by Karen. We held our Christmas Party at Martha's where
we enjoyed a pot luck luncheon and a White elephant gift exchange. We donated $200 to the Southern Region
Room at SIA Headquarters in Philadelphia. Our Women Honoring Women Event was
held at the Clearwater Country Club on April 1st. We sent 3 delegates to the Southern
Region Conference in Puerto Rico. We joined with the other Tampa Bay Clubs for our Installation of Officers on June 3rd. This was sponsored by the Holiday Isles Club. We donated $50 to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Pegi's husband. We gave $2054.42 in service funds to "Women on the Way" That's the Way We Were. 2005 - 2006 Paula Harvey -President |
